What is Welsh Government Minimum Unit Pricing

Welsh Government approved a law to set a minimum price you pay for alcohol. The law was passed on Tuesday 19th June 2018. The bill was passed by 45 votes to 5. However Welsh Government have not yet decided what the minimum price should be.

Welsh Government feel that this price should be 50p per unit. What do you think? Is it too high, too low or just right?

Welsh Government would like your thoughts on this. Could you spend 5 minutes to answer the following questions? Please put your thoughts in the comment box below.

  1. What are your thoughts on the lowest price you should pay for alcohol? Welsh Government feel it should be at least 50p per unit of alcohol. Do you agree?
  2. Should there be a different price. If so should it be more or less?
  3. Do you think this proposal will affect those who speak Welsh? Is this in a different way to those who don’t?
  4. Do you have any other comments on a minimum price for alcohol?

Could you respond by 11am on Friday 21st December 2018.
